For precise decisions and reliable results
Advanced treatment of bladder tumors, prostate enlargement, and prostate cancer by a world-class expert

Provides care even in the most complex urological cases
Professor Enikeev is one of the most experienced urologists in the world, with over 3,500 surgeries performed. His treatment techniques for prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and bladder tumors are recognized by leading urological associations worldwide.
Extensive experience in the removal of large and giant tumors
Performs surgeries to remove complex tumors and masses. His clinical experience includes successful removal of prostate adenomas exceeding 600 cubic centimeters—25 to 30 times the normal size—as well as bladder tumors larger than 8 cm. This level of expertise enables him to carry out highly complex procedures safely while preserving a high quality of life for his patients.
Pioneered new diagnostic and treatment methods in Israel
He was the first in Israel to adopt cutting-edge international protocols for the accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer and the safe removal of bladder tumors. For prostate cancer detection, he uses fusion biopsy following the Ginsburg protocol under local anesthesia. For bladder tumor treatment, he performs laser en bloc resection, which allows for the complete and minimally traumatic removal of the tumor. These advanced techniques reduce the risk of recurrence, increase diagnostic accuracy, and promote faster recovery.
Diagnosis and treatment
We will choose the gentlest and most effective treatment to help you or your loved one recover faster and maintain a high quality of life
HoLEP/ ThuFLEP
Laser surgery for prostate adenoma
- Using holmium (HOLEP) or thulium (ThuFLEP) laser techniques, the surgeon gently removes prostate adenomas of any size through natural urinary pathways — without incisions and with minimal blood loss. Normal urination is typically restored within the first few days after the procedure. This method is effective even for large adenomas and removes the need for further treatment.
- Duration: 60–90 minutes under spinal anesthesia, offering a comfortable and safe experience—even for elderly patients and those with chronic conditions.
- Discharge is usually possible the day after surgery.
NanoKnife
Targeted destruction of prostate tumors using electrical pulses
- Under ultrasound or CT guidance, the doctor inserts thin electrodes into the area of the tumor. Short electrical pulses are delivered through these electrodes, precisely targeting the cancer cells. The pulses disrupt the cell membranes, causing the tumor cells to lose viability and die. The body then naturally eliminates them over time.
- Unlike laser or radiofrequency ablation, this method does not heat the tissue and does not damage important structures surrounding the tumor. The electric field affects only the tumor cells, leaving nearby blood vessels, nerves, and the urethra unharmed. That’s why the NanoKnife (IRE) is considered a gentle treatment option that helps preserve organ function — including urination and sexual function.
- This method is often chosen by younger and middle-aged patients who want to preserve erectile function. It is also used when other treatments carry a higher risk of complications.
- Duration: about 60 minutes under general anesthesia.
- Patients are typically discharged the same day.
Photodynamic cystoscopy
Highlighting cancerous areas in the bladder during surgery
- A special dye is introduced into the body, which accumulates only in cancer cells. Under a specific type of light, the affected tissues begin to glow, allowing the surgeon to detect even the smallest tumor areas.
- This method increases tumor detection accuracy by 20–30% compared to standard cystoscopy and helps ensure that all cancerous tissue is removed in a single procedure, reducing the risk of recurrence.
- Duration: 15–20 minutes, performed during bladder tumor removal surgery.
Laser en bloc
Laser removal of bladder cancer in one piece (en bloc)
- The doctor removes the bladder tumor in one piece (en bloc) using a laser through an endoscope — without any skin incisions and without breaking the tumor apart. Unlike conventional methods, where the tumor is removed in fragments, the en bloc technique allows the entire tumor to be removed at once. This helps reduce the risk of cancer cells being left behind in the bladder and lowers the chance of recurrence.
- Duration: 30–90 minutes under spinal anesthesia — a safe and comfortable option for most patients, including older adults and those with chronic conditions.
- Patients are usually discharged the day after surgery.
Cryoablation
Destruction of prostate tumors using cold
- Under ultrasound guidance, the doctor inserts thin probes—about 3–4 mm in diameter—into the tumor area. A cold gas is delivered through the probes, rapidly lowering the temperature of the tissue to around −100°C and then allowing it to warm back up. This sudden shift in temperature disrupts the membranes of cancer cells, causing them to break down and die. Healthy tissues are not damaged, as their cells are more resistant to temperature changes.
- Duration: 60–90 minutes under spinal anesthesia, which is especially suitable for older adults and patients with chronic conditions.
- Patients are usually discharged the day after the procedure.
Fusion biopsy
Prostate cancer diagnostics using the Ginsburg protocol
- Fusion biopsy uses real-time image fusion technology that combines MRI and ultrasound. MRI scans identify suspicious areas in advance, and during the procedure, this data is overlaid onto live ultrasound images. This allows the doctor to take precisely targeted tissue samples and avoid missing cancerous zones.
- The Ginsburg protocol improves diagnostic accuracy through strict standards for preparation, biopsy technique, and result interpretation. This approach minimizes the risk of errors and provides near-100% diagnostic efficiency.
- Unlike conventional biopsy methods, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia with minimal intervention — only the necessary area is numbed.
-
This makes it a safe and comfortable option, even for elderly patients or those with unstable blood pressure.
- Duration: 20–30 minutes.
- Results: available within 14 days.
Symptoms
When to see a urologist without delay
Difficulty urinating
A common issue in men, especially after the age of 45. It may be caused by prostate enlargement (BPH), urethral stricture, or prostate cancer. If your urine stream has become weak, you feel like your bladder doesn’t fully empty, or you have to strain to urinate — it’s important to see a urologist for diagnosis and treatment.
Pain or burning during urination
These symptoms are often linked to cystitis, urethritis, prostatitis, or urinary tract infections. It’s especially important to see a urologist without delay if the pain gets worse, if there is any discharge, or if you feel generally unwell. Treatment is prescribed after the diagnosis is confirmed—based on lab tests and ultrasound findings.
Frequent urination
If you’re urinating more often than usual, especially at night, it may be a sign of inflammation, prostate enlargement (BPH), prostatitis, or even diabetes. A urologist can help rule out urinary or reproductive system conditions and recommend further tests if needed.
Blood in the urine
Even a single episode of blood in the urine is a serious reason to see a doctor. It may be a sign of kidney stones, bladder tumor, inflammation, or injury. Hematuria requires prompt evaluation by a urologist to rule out any malignant conditions.
Lower back pain
If the pain is sudden and sharp, it may be a sign of kidney colic caused by stones. Persistent or dull pain may be related to pyelonephritis, hydronephrosis, tumors, or chronic kidney disease. A urologist consultation, kidney ultrasound, and lab tests can help determine the cause.
